ਖੰਡ ਪਤਾਲ ਦੀਪ ਸਭਿ ਲੋਆ ॥

Kʱand paṫaal ḋeep sabʱ lo▫aa.

All the continents, nether worlds, islands and worlds -

ਸਭਿ ਕਾਲੈ ਵਸਿ ਆਪਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕੀਆ ॥

Sabʱ kaalæ vas aap parabʱ kee▫aa.

God Himself has made them all subject to death.

ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਏਕੁ ਆਪਿ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਸੋ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਜੋ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਧਿਆਇਦਾ ॥੭॥

Nihchal ék aap abʱinaasee so nihchal jo ṫisėh ḋʱi▫aa▫iḋaa. ||7||

The One Imperishable Lord Himself is unmoving and unchanging. Meditating on Him, one becomes unchanging. ||7||

ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਸੋ ਹਰਿ ਜੇਹਾ ॥

Har kaa sévak so har jéhaa.

The Lord’s servant becomes like the Lord.

ਭੇਦੁ ਨ ਜਾਣਹੁ ਮਾਣਸ ਦੇਹਾ ॥

Bʱéḋ na jaaṇhu maaṇas ḋéhaa.

Do not think that, because of his human body, he is different.

ਜਿਉ ਜਲ ਤਰੰਗ ਉਠਹਿ ਬਹੁ ਭਾਤੀ ਫਿਰਿ ਸਲਲੈ ਸਲਲ ਸਮਾਇਦਾ ॥੮॥

Ji▫o jal ṫarang utʱėh baho bʱaaṫee fir sallæ salal samaa▫iḋaa. ||8||

The waves of the water rise up in various ways, and then the water merges again in water. ||8||

ਇਕੁ ਜਾਚਿਕੁ ਮੰਗੈ ਦਾਨੁ ਦੁਆਰੈ ॥

Ik jaachik mangæ ḋaan ḋu▫aaræ.

A beggar begs for charity at His Door.

ਜਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਾ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੈ ॥

Jaa parabʱ bʱaavæ ṫaa kirpaa ḋʱaaræ.

When God pleases, He takes pity on him.

ਦੇਹੁ ਦਰਸੁ ਜਿਤੁ ਮਨੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਸੈ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨਿ ਮਨੁ ਠਹਰਾਇਦਾ ॥੯॥

Ḏéh ḋaras jiṫ man ṫaripṫaasæ har keerṫan man tʱėhraa▫iḋaa. ||9||

Please bless me with the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan, to satisfy my mind, O Lord. Through the Kirtan of Your Praises, my mind is held steady. ||9||

ਰੂੜੋ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਕਿਤੈ ਵਸਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥

Rooṛo tʱaakur kiṫæ vas na aavæ.

The Beauteous Lord and Master is not controlled in any way.

ਹਰਿ ਸੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰੇ ਜਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਿਆ ਸੰਤਾ ਭਾਵੈ ॥

Har so kichʱ karé jė har ki▫aa sanṫaa bʱaavæ.

The Lord does that which pleases the Saints of the Lord.

ਕੀਤਾ ਲੋੜਨਿ ਸੋਈ ਕਰਾਇਨਿ ਦਰਿ ਫੇਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੦॥

Keeṫaa loṛan so▫ee karaa▫in ḋar fér na ko▫ee paa▫iḋaa. ||10||

He does whatever they wish to be done; nothing blocks their way at His Door. ||10||

ਜਿਥੈ ਅਉਘਟੁ ਆਇ ਬਨਤੁ ਹੈ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ॥

Jiṫʱæ a▫ugʱat aa▫é banaṫ hæ paraaṇee.

Wherever the mortal is confronted with difficulty,

ਤਿਥੈ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਸਾਰਿੰਗਪਾਣੀ ॥

Ŧiṫʱæ har ḋʱi▫aa▫ee▫æ saaringpaaṇee.

there he should meditate on the Lord of the Universe.

ਜਿਥੈ ਪੁਤ੍ਰੁ ਕਲਤ੍ਰੁ ਨ ਬੇਲੀ ਕੋਈ ਤਿਥੈ ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਛਡਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੧॥

Jiṫʱæ puṫar kalaṫar na bélee ko▫ee ṫiṫʱæ har aap chʱadaa▫iḋaa. ||11||

Where there are no children, spouse or friends, there the Lord Himself comes to the rescue. ||11||

ਵਡਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਅਗਮ ਅਥਾਹਾ ॥

vadaa saahib agam aṫʱaahaa.

The Great Lord and Master is inaccessible and unfathomable.

ਕਿਉ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਵੇਪਰਵਾਹਾ ॥

Ki▫o milee▫æ parabʱ véparvaahaa.

How can anyone meet with God, the self-sufficient One?

ਕਾਟਿ ਸਿਲਕ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਪਾਏ ਸੋ ਵਿਚਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਾਸਾ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੨॥

Kaat silak jis maarag paa▫é so vich sangaṫ vaasaa paa▫iḋaa. ||12||

Those who have had the noose cut away from around their necks, whom God has set back upon the Path, obtain a place in the Sangat, the Congregation. ||12||

ਹੁਕਮੁ ਬੂਝੈ ਸੋ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਕਹੀਐ ॥

Hukam boojʱæ so sévak kahee▫æ.

One who realizes the Hukam of the Lord’s Command is said to be His servant.

ਬੁਰਾ ਭਲਾ ਦੁਇ ਸਮਸਰਿ ਸਹੀਐ ॥

Buraa bʱalaa ḋu▫é samsar sahee▫æ.

He endures both bad and good equally.

ਹਉਮੈ ਜਾਇ ਤ ਏਕੋ ਬੂਝੈ ਸੋ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੩॥

Ha▫umæ jaa▫é ṫa éko boojʱæ so gurmukʱ sahj samaa▫iḋaa. ||13||

When egotism is silenced, then one comes to know the One Lord. Such a Gurmukh intuitively merges into the Lord. ||13||

ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਭਗਤ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖਵਾਸੀ ॥

Har ké bʱagaṫ saḋaa sukʱvaasee.

The devotees of the Lord dwell forever in peace.

ਬਾਲ ਸੁਭਾਇ ਅਤੀਤ ਉਦਾਸੀ ॥

Baal subʱaa▫é aṫeeṫ uḋaasee.

With a child-like, innocent nature, they remain detached, turning away from the world.

ਅਨਿਕ ਰੰਗ ਕਰਹਿ ਬਹੁ ਭਾਤੀ ਜਿਉ ਪਿਤਾ ਪੂਤੁ ਲਾਡਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੪॥

Anik rang karahi baho bʱaaṫee ji▫o piṫaa pooṫ laadaa▫iḋaa. ||14||

They enjoy various pleasures in many ways; God caresses them, like a father caressing his son. ||14||

ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਈ ॥

Agam agochar keemaṫ nahee paa▫ee.

He is inaccessible and unfathomable; His value cannot be estimated.

ਤਾ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਜਾ ਲਏ ਮਿਲਾਈ ॥

Ŧaa milee▫æ jaa la▫é milaa▫ee.

We meet Him, only when He causes us to meet.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੁ ਭਇਆ ਤਿਨ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਜਿਨ ਧੁਰਿ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲੇਖੁ ਲਿਖਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੫॥

Gurmukʱ pargat bʱa▫i▫aa ṫin jan ka▫o jin ḋʱur masṫak lékʱ likʱaa▫iḋaa. ||15||

The Lord is revealed to those humble Gurmukhs, who have such preordained destiny inscribed upon their foreheads. ||15||

ਤੂ ਆਪੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਕਾਰਣ ਕਰਣਾ ॥

Ŧoo aapé karṫaa kaaraṇ karṇaa.

You Yourself are the Creator Lord, the Cause of all causes.

ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਉਪਾਇ ਧਰੀ ਸਭ ਧਰਣਾ ॥

Sarisat upaa▫é ḋʱaree sabʱ ḋʱarṇaa.

You created the Universe, and You support the whole earth.

ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸਰਣਿ ਪਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਦੁਆਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਵੈ ਲਾਜ ਰਖਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੬॥੧॥੫॥

Jan Naanak saraṇ pa▫i▫aa har ḋu▫aaræ har bʱaavæ laaj rakʱaa▫iḋaa. ||16||1||5||

Servant Nanak seeks the Sanctuary of Your Door, O Lord; if it is Your Will, please preserve his honor. ||16||1||5||

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਜੋ ਦੀਸੈ ਸੋ ਏਕੋ ਤੂਹੈ ॥

Jo ḋeesæ so éko ṫoohæ.

Whatever is seen is You, O One Lord.

ਬਾਣੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਵਣਿ ਸੁਣੀਐ ॥

Baṇee ṫéree sarvaṇ suṇee▫æ.

What the ears hear is the Word of Your Bani.

ਦੂਜੀ ਅਵਰ ਨ ਜਾਪਸਿ ਕਾਈ ਸਗਲ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ਧਾਰਣਾ ॥੧॥

Ḏoojee avar na jaapas kaa▫ee sagal ṫumaaree ḋʱaarṇaa. ||1||

There is nothing else to be seen at all. You give support to all. ||1||

ਆਪਿ ਚਿਤਾਰੇ ਅਪਣਾ ਕੀਆ ॥

Āp chiṫaaré apṇaa kee▫aa.

You Yourself are conscious of Your Creation.

ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਆਪਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਥੀਆ ॥

Āpé aap aap parabʱ ṫʱee▫aa.

You Yourself established Yourself, O God.

ਆਪਿ ਉਪਾਇ ਰਚਿਓਨੁ ਪਸਾਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਸਾਰਣਾ ॥੨॥

Āp upaa▫é rachi▫on pasaaraa aapé gʱat gʱat saarṇaa. ||2||

Creating Yourself, You formed the expanse of the Universe; You Yourself cherish and sustain each and every heart. ||2||

ਇਕਿ ਉਪਾਏ ਵਡ ਦਰਵਾਰੀ ॥

Ik upaa▫é vad ḋarvaaree.

You created some to hold great and royal courts.

ਇਕਿ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਇਕਿ ਘਰ ਬਾਰੀ ॥

Ik uḋaasee ik gʱar baaree.

Some turn away from the world in renunciation, and some maintain their households.

ਇਕਿ ਭੂਖੇ ਇਕਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਅਘਾਏ ਸਭਸੈ ਤੇਰਾ ਪਾਰਣਾ ॥੩॥

Ik bʱookʱé ik ṫaripaṫ agʱaa▫é sabʱsæ ṫéraa paarṇaa. ||3||

Some are hungry and some are satisfied and satiated, but all lean on Your Support. ||3||
