ਦੋਜਕਿ ਪਾਏ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰੈ ਲੇਖਾ ਮੰਗੈ ਬਾਣੀਆ ॥੨॥

Ḋojak paa▫é sirjaṇhaaræ lékʰaa mangæ baaṇee▫aa. ||2||

They are consigned to hell by the Creator Lord, and the Accountant calls them to give their account. ||2||

ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਭਈਆ ਬੇਬਾ ॥

Sang na ko▫ee bʰa▫ee▫aa bébaa.

No brothers or sisters can go with them.

ਮਾਲੁ ਜੋਬਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਛੋਡਿ ਵਞੇਸਾ ॥

Maal joban ḋʰan chʰod vañésaa.

Leaving behind their property, youth and wealth, they march off.

ਕਰਣ ਕਰੀਮ ਨ ਜਾਤੋ ਕਰਤਾ ਤਿਲ ਪੀੜੇ ਜਿਉ ਘਾਣੀਆ ॥੩॥

Karaṇ kareem na jaaṫo karṫaa ṫil peeṛé ji▫o gʰaaṇee▫aa. ||3||

They do not know the kind and compassionate Lord; they shall be crushed like sesame seeds in the oil-press. ||3||

ਖੁਸਿ ਖੁਸਿ ਲੈਦਾ ਵਸਤੁ ਪਰਾਈ ॥

Kʰus kʰus læḋaa vasaṫ paraa▫ee.

You happily, cheerfully steal the possessions of others,

ਵੇਖੈ ਸੁਣੇ ਤੇਰੈ ਨਾਲਿ ਖੁਦਾਈ ॥

vékʰæ suṇé ṫéræ naal kʰuḋaa▫ee.

but the Lord God is with you, watching and listening.

ਦੁਨੀਆ ਲਬਿ ਪਇਆ ਖਾਤ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਅਗਲੀ ਗਲ ਨ ਜਾਣੀਆ ॥੪॥

Ḋunee▫aa lab pa▫i▫aa kʰaaṫ anḋar aglee gal na jaaṇee▫aa. ||4||

Through worldly greed, you have fallen into the pit; you know nothing of the future. ||4||

ਜਮਿ ਜਮਿ ਮਰੈ ਮਰੈ ਫਿਰਿ ਜੰਮੈ ॥

Jam jam maræ maræ fir jammæ.

You shall be born and born again, and die and die again, only to be reincarnated again.

ਬਹੁਤੁ ਸਜਾਇ ਪਇਆ ਦੇਸਿ ਲੰਮੈ ॥

Bahuṫ sajaa▫é pa▫i▫aa ḋés lammæ.

You shall suffer terrible punishment, on your way to the land beyond.

ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਤਾ ਤਿਸੈ ਨ ਜਾਣੀ ਅੰਧਾ ਤਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਸਹੈ ਪਰਾਣੀਆ ॥੫॥

Jin keeṫaa ṫisæ na jaaṇee anḋʰaa ṫaa ḋukʰ sahæ paraaṇee▫aa. ||5||

The mortal does not know the One who created him; he is blind, and so he shall suffer. ||5||

ਖਾਲਕ ਥਾਵਹੁ ਭੁਲਾ ਮੁਠਾ ॥

Kʰaalak ṫʰaavhu bʰulaa mutʰaa.

Forgetting the Creator Lord, he is ruined.

ਦੁਨੀਆ ਖੇਲੁ ਬੁਰਾ ਰੁਠ ਤੁਠਾ ॥

Ḋunee▫aa kʰél buraa rutʰ ṫutʰaa.

The drama of the world is bad; it brings sadness and then happiness.

ਸਿਦਕੁ ਸਬੂਰੀ ਸੰਤੁ ਨ ਮਿਲਿਓ ਵਤੈ ਆਪਣ ਭਾਣੀਆ ॥੬॥

Siḋak sabooree sanṫ na mili▫o vaṫæ aapaṇ bʰaaṇee▫aa. ||6||

One who does not meet the Saint does not have faith or contentment; he wanders just as he pleases. ||6||

ਮਉਲਾ ਖੇਲ ਕਰੇ ਸਭਿ ਆਪੇ ॥

Ma▫ulaa kʰél karé sabʰ aapé.

The Lord Himself stages all this drama.

ਇਕਿ ਕਢੇ ਇਕਿ ਲਹਰਿ ਵਿਆਪੇ ॥

Ik kadʰé ik lahar vi▫aapé.

Some, he lifts up, and some he throws into the waves.

ਜਿਉ ਨਚਾਏ ਤਿਉ ਤਿਉ ਨਚਨਿ ਸਿਰਿ ਸਿਰਿ ਕਿਰਤ ਵਿਹਾਣੀਆ ॥੭॥

Ji▫o nachaa▫é ṫi▫o ṫi▫o nachan sir sir kiraṫ vihaaṇee▫aa. ||7||

As He makes them dance, so do they dance. Everyone lives their lives according to their past actions. ||7||

ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰੇ ਤਾ ਖਸਮੁ ਧਿਆਈ ॥

Mihar karé ṫaa kʰasam ḋʰi▫aa▫ee.

When the Lord and Master grants His Grace, then we meditate on Him.

ਸੰਤਾ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਨਰਕਿ ਨ ਪਾਈ ॥

Sanṫaa sangaṫ narak na paa▫ee.

In the Society of the Saints, one is not consigned to hell.

ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮ ਦਾਨੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਗੁਣ ਗੀਤਾ ਨਿਤ ਵਖਾਣੀਆ ॥੮॥੨॥੮॥੧੨॥੨੦॥

Amriṫ naam ḋaan Naanak ka▫o guṇ geeṫaa niṫ vakʰaaṇee▫aa. ||8||2||8||12||20||

Please bless Nanak with the gift of the Ambrosial Naam, the Name of the Lord; he continually sings the songs of Your Glories. ||8||2||8||12||20||

Maaroo, Solahas, First Mehl:

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

Ik▫oaⁿkaar saṫgur parsaaḋ.

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਸਾਚਾ ਸਚੁ ਸੋਈ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥

Saachaa sach so▫ee avar na ko▫ee.

The True Lord is True; there is no other at all.

ਜਿਨਿ ਸਿਰਜੀ ਤਿਨ ਹੀ ਫੁਨਿ ਗੋਈ ॥

Jin sirjee ṫin hee fun go▫ee.

He who created, shall in the end destroy.

ਜਿਉ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਉ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਰਹਣਾ ਤੁਮ ਸਿਉ ਕਿਆ ਮੁਕਰਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੧॥

Ji▫o bʰaavæ ṫi▫o raakʰo rahṇaa ṫum si▫o ki▫aa mukraa▫ee hé. ||1||

As it pleases You, so You keep me, and so I remain; what excuse could I offer to You? ||1||

ਆਪਿ ਉਪਾਏ ਆਪਿ ਖਪਾਏ ॥

Aap upaa▫é aap kʰapaa▫é.

You Yourself create, and You Yourself destroy.

ਆਪੇ ਸਿਰਿ ਸਿਰਿ ਧੰਧੈ ਲਾਏ ॥

Aapé sir sir ḋʰanḋʰæ laa▫é.

You yourself link each and every person to their tasks.

ਆਪੇ ਵੀਚਾਰੀ ਗੁਣਕਾਰੀ ਆਪੇ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਲਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੨॥

Aapé veechaaree guṇkaaree aapé maarag laa▫ee hé. ||2||

You contemplate Yourself, You Yourself make us worthy; You Yourself place us on the Path. ||2||

ਆਪੇ ਦਾਨਾ ਆਪੇ ਬੀਨਾ ॥

Aapé ḋaanaa aapé beenaa.

You Yourself are all-wise, You Yourself are all-knowing.

ਆਪੇ ਆਪੁ ਉਪਾਇ ਪਤੀਨਾ ॥

Aapé aap upaa▫é paṫeenaa.

You Yourself created the Universe, and You are pleased.

ਆਪੇ ਪਉਣੁ ਪਾਣੀ ਬੈਸੰਤਰੁ ਆਪੇ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੩॥

Aapé pa▫uṇ paaṇee bæsanṫar aapé mél milaa▫ee hé. ||3||

You Yourself are the air, water and fire; You Yourself unite in Union. ||3||

ਆਪੇ ਸਸਿ ਸੂਰਾ ਪੂਰੋ ਪੂਰਾ ॥

Aapé sas sooraa pooro pooraa.

You Yourself are the moon, the sun, the most perfect of the perfect.

ਆਪੇ ਗਿਆਨਿ ਧਿਆਨਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਸੂਰਾ ॥

Aapé gi▫aan ḋʰi▫aan gur sooraa.

You Yourself are spiritual wisdom, meditation, and the Guru, the Warrior Hero.

ਕਾਲੁ ਜਾਲੁ ਜਮੁ ਜੋਹਿ ਨ ਸਾਕੈ ਸਾਚੇ ਸਿਉ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੪॥

Kaal jaal jam johi na saakæ saaché si▫o liv laa▫ee hé. ||4||

The Messenger of Death, and his noose of death, cannot touch one, who is lovingly focused on You, O True Lord. ||4||

ਆਪੇ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਨਾਰੀ ॥

Aapé purakʰ aapé hee naaree.

You Yourself are the male, and You Yourself are the female.

ਆਪੇ ਪਾਸਾ ਆਪੇ ਸਾਰੀ ॥

Aapé paasaa aapé saaree.

You Yourself are the chess-board, and You Yourself are the chessman.

ਆਪੇ ਪਿੜ ਬਾਧੀ ਜਗੁ ਖੇਲੈ ਆਪੇ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਪਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੫॥

Aapé piṛ baaḋʰee jag kʰélæ aapé keemaṫ paa▫ee hé. ||5||

You Yourself staged the drama in the arena of the world, and You Yourself evaluate the players. ||5||

ਆਪੇ ਭਵਰੁ ਫੁਲੁ ਫਲੁ ਤਰਵਰੁ ॥

Aapé bʰavar ful fal ṫarvar.

You Yourself are the bumble bee, the flower, the fruit and the tree.

ਆਪੇ ਜਲੁ ਥਲੁ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਸਰਵਰੁ ॥

Aapé jal ṫʰal saagar sarvar.

You Yourself are the water, the desert, the ocean and the pool.

ਆਪੇ ਮਛੁ ਕਛੁ ਕਰਣੀਕਰੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਰੂਪੁ ਨ ਲਖਣਾ ਜਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੬॥

Aapé machʰ kachʰ karṇeekar ṫéraa roop na lakʰ▫ṇaa jaa▫ee hé. ||6||

You Yourself are the great fish, the tortoise, the Cause of all causes; Your form cannot be known. ||6||

ਆਪੇ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਰੈਣੀ ॥

Aapé ḋinas aapé hee ræṇee.

You Yourself are the day, and You Yourself are the night.

ਆਪਿ ਪਤੀਜੈ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਬੈਣੀ ॥

Aap paṫeejæ gur kee bæṇee.

You Yourself are pleased by the Word of the Guru’s Bani.

ਆਦਿ ਜੁਗਾਦਿ ਅਨਾਹਦਿ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਰਜਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੭॥

Aaḋ jugaaḋ anaahaḋ an▫ḋin gʰat gʰat sabaḋ rajaa▫ee hé. ||7||

From the very beginning, and throughout the ages, the unstruck sound current resounds, night and day; in each and every heart, the Word of the Shabad, echoes Your Will. ||7||

ਆਪੇ ਰਤਨੁ ਅਨੂਪੁ ਅਮੋਲੋ ॥

Aapé raṫan anoop amolo.

You Yourself are the jewel, incomparably beautiful and priceless.

ਆਪੇ ਪਰਖੇ ਪੂਰਾ ਤੋਲੋ ॥

Aapé parkʰé pooraa ṫolo.

You Yourself are the Assessor, the Perfect Weigher.
