ਆਪੇ ਕਾਸਟ ਆਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਵਿਚਿ ਕਾਸਟ ਅਗਨਿ ਰਖਾਇਆ ॥

Aapé kaasat aap har pi▫aaraa vich kaasat agan rakʰaa▫i▫aa.

The Beloved Lord Himself is the firewood, and He Himself keeps the fire within the wood.

ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਆਪਿ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਭੈ ਅਗਨਿ ਨ ਸਕੈ ਜਲਾਇਆ ॥

Aapé hee aap varaṫḋaa pi▫aaraa bʰæ agan na sakæ jalaa▫i▫aa.

The Beloved Lord Himself, all by Himself, permeates them, and because of the Fear of God, the fire cannot burn the wood.

ਆਪੇ ਮਾਰਿ ਜੀਵਾਇਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਸਾਹ ਲੈਦੇ ਸਭਿ ਲਵਾਇਆ ॥੩॥

Aapé maar jeevaa▫iḋaa pi▫aaraa saah læḋé sabʰ lavaa▫i▫aa. ||3||

The Beloved Himself kills and revives; all draw the breath of life, given by Him. ||3||

ਆਪੇ ਤਾਣੁ ਦੀਬਾਣੁ ਹੈ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਕਾਰੈ ਲਾਇਆ ॥

Aapé ṫaaṇ ḋeebaaṇ hæ pi▫aaraa aapé kaaræ laa▫i▫aa.

The Beloved Himself is power and presence; He Himself engages us in our work.

ਜਿਉ ਆਪਿ ਚਲਾਏ ਤਿਉ ਚਲੀਐ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਜਿਉ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਇਆ ॥

Ji▫o aap chalaa▫é ṫi▫o chalee▫æ pi▫aaré ji▫o har parabʰ méré bʰaa▫i▫aa.

As the Beloved makes me walk, I walk, as it pleases my Lord God.

ਆਪੇ ਜੰਤੀ ਜੰਤੁ ਹੈ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਵਜਹਿ ਵਜਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੪॥

Aapé janṫee janṫ hæ pi▫aaraa jan Naanak vajėh vajaa▫i▫aa. ||4||4||

The Beloved Himself is the musician, and the musical instrument; servant Nanak vibrates His vibration. ||4||4||

ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ॥

Sorat’h, Fourth Mehl:

ਆਪੇ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਉਪਾਇਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਕਰਿ ਸੂਰਜੁ ਚੰਦੁ ਚਾਨਾਣੁ ॥

Aapé sarisat upaa▫iḋaa pi▫aaraa kar sooraj chanḋ chaanaaṇ.

The Beloved Himself created the Universe; He made the light of the sun and the moon.

ਆਪਿ ਨਿਤਾਣਿਆ ਤਾਣੁ ਹੈ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਪਿ ਨਿਮਾਣਿਆ ਮਾਣੁ ॥

Aap niṫaaṇi▫aa ṫaaṇ hæ pi▫aaraa aap nimaaṇi▫aa maaṇ.

The Beloved Himself is the power of the powerless; He Himself is the honor of the dishonored.

ਆਪਿ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਿ ਰਖਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਸੁਘੜੁ ਸੁਜਾਣੁ ॥੧॥

Aap ḋa▫i▫aa kar rakʰ▫ḋaa pi▫aaraa aapé sugʰaṛ sujaaṇ. ||1||

The Beloved Himself grants His Grace and protects us; He Himself is wise and all-knowing. ||1||

ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਜਪਿ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਨੀਸਾਣੁ ॥

Méré man jap raam naam neesaaṇ.

O my mind! Chant the Name of the Lord, and receive His Insignia.

ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਧਿਆਇ ਤੂ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣੁ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

Saṫsangaṫ mil ḋʰi▫aa▫é ṫoo har har bahuṛ na aavaṇ jaaṇ. Rahaa▫o.

Join the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation, and meditate on the Lord, Har, Har; you shall not have to come and go in reincarnation again. ||Pause||

ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਗੁਣ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ॥

Aapé hee guṇ varaṫḋaa pi▫aaraa aapé hee parvaaṇ.

The Beloved Himself pervades His Glorious Praises, and He Himself approves them.

ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸ ਕਰਾਇਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਸਚੁ ਨੀਸਾਣੁ ॥

Aapé bakʰas karaa▫iḋaa pi▫aaraa aapé sach neesaaṇ.

The Beloved Himself grants His forgiveness, and He Himself bestows the Insignia of Truth.

ਆਪੇ ਹੁਕਮਿ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਫੁਰਮਾਣੁ ॥੨॥

Aapé hukam varaṫḋaa pi▫aaraa aapé hee furmaaṇ. ||2||

The Beloved Himself obeys His Will, and He Himself issues His Command. ||2||

ਆਪੇ ਭਗਤਿ ਭੰਡਾਰ ਹੈ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਦੇਵੈ ਦਾਣੁ ॥

Aapé bʰagaṫ bʰandaar hæ pi▫aaraa aapé ḋévæ ḋaaṇ.

The Beloved Himself is the treasure of devotion; He Himself gives His gifts.

ਆਪੇ ਸੇਵ ਕਰਾਇਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਪਿ ਦਿਵਾਵੈ ਮਾਣੁ ॥

Aapé sév karaa▫iḋaa pi▫aaraa aap ḋivaavæ maaṇ.

The Beloved Himself commits some to His service, and He Himself blesses them with honor.

ਆਪੇ ਤਾੜੀ ਲਾਇਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਗੁਣੀ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ॥੩॥

Aapé ṫaaṛee laa▫iḋaa pi▫aaraa aapé guṇee niḋʰaan. ||3||

The Beloved Himself is absorbed in Samadhi; He Himself is the treasure of excellence. ||3||

ਆਪੇ ਵਡਾ ਆਪਿ ਹੈ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਪਰਧਾਣੁ ॥

Aapé vadaa aap hæ pi▫aaraa aapé hee parḋʰaaṇ.

The Beloved Himself is the greatest; He Himself is supreme.

ਆਪੇ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਪਾਇਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਤੁਲੁ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ॥

Aapé keemaṫ paa▫iḋaa pi▫aaraa aapé ṫul parvaaṇ.

The Beloved Himself appraises the value; He Himself is the scale, and the weights.

ਆਪੇ ਅਤੁਲੁ ਤੁਲਾਇਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦ ਕੁਰਬਾਣੁ ॥੪॥੫॥

Aapé aṫul ṫulaa▫iḋaa pi▫aaraa jan Naanak saḋ kurbaaṇ. ||4||5||

The Beloved Himself is un-weighable - He weighs Himself; servant Nanak is forever a sacrifice to Him. ||4||5||

ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ॥

Sorat’h, Fourth Mehl:

ਆਪੇ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਾਇਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਭਗਤਿ ਉਮਾਹਾ ॥

Aapé sévaa laa▫iḋaa pi▫aaraa aapé bʰagaṫ omaahaa.

The Beloved Himself commits some to His service; He Himself blesses them with the joy of devotional worship.

ਆਪੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਾਇਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਮਾਹਾ ॥

Aapé guṇ gaavaa▫iḋaa pi▫aaraa aapé sabaḋ samaahaa.

The Beloved Himself causes us to sing His Glorious Praises; He Himself is absorbed in the Word of His Shabad.

ਆਪੇ ਲੇਖਣਿ ਆਪਿ ਲਿਖਾਰੀ ਆਪੇ ਲੇਖੁ ਲਿਖਾਹਾ ॥੧॥

Aapé lékʰaṇ aap likʰaaree aapé lékʰ likʰaahaa. ||1||

He Himself is the pen, and He Himself is the scribe; He Himself inscribes His inscription. ||1||

ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਜਪਿ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਓਮਾਹਾ ॥

Méré man jap raam naam omaahaa.

O my mind! Joyfully chant the Name of the Lord.

ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਅਨਦੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਲੈ ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਲਾਹਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

An▫ḋin anaḋ hovæ vadbʰaagee læ gur pooræ har laahaa. Rahaa▫o.

Those very fortunate ones are in ecstasy night and day; through the Perfect Guru, they obtain the profit of the Lord’s Name. ||Pause||

ਆਪੇ ਗੋਪੀ ਕਾਨੁ ਹੈ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਬਨਿ ਆਪੇ ਗਊ ਚਰਾਹਾ ॥

Aapé gopee kaan hæ pi▫aaraa ban aapé ga▫oo charaahaa.

The Beloved Himself is the milk-maid and Krishna; He Himself herds the cows in the woods.

ਆਪੇ ਸਾਵਲ ਸੁੰਦਰਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਵੰਸੁ ਵਜਾਹਾ ॥

Aapé saaval sunḋraa pi▫aaraa aapé vans vajaahaa.

The Beloved Himself is the blue-skinned, handsome one; He Himself plays on His flute.

ਕੁਵਲੀਆ ਪੀੜੁ ਆਪਿ ਮਰਾਇਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਕਰਿ ਬਾਲਕ ਰੂਪਿ ਪਚਾਹਾ ॥੨॥

Kuvlee▫aa peeṛ aap maraa▫iḋaa pi▫aaraa kar baalak roop pachaahaa. ||2||

The Beloved Himself took the form of a child, and destroyed Kuwalia-peer, the mad elephant. ||2||

ਆਪਿ ਅਖਾੜਾ ਪਾਇਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਕਰਿ ਵੇਖੈ ਆਪਿ ਚੋਜਾਹਾ ॥

Aap akʰaaṛaa paa▫iḋaa pi▫aaraa kar vékʰæ aap chojaahaa.

The Beloved Himself sets the stage; He performs the plays, and He Himself watches them.

ਕਰਿ ਬਾਲਕ ਰੂਪ ਉਪਾਇਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਚੰਡੂਰੁ ਕੰਸੁ ਕੇਸੁ ਮਾਰਾਹਾ ॥

Kar baalak roop upaa▫iḋaa pi▫aaraa chandoor kans kés maaraahaa.

The Beloved Himself assumed the form of the child, and killed the demons Chandoor, Kansa and Kaysee.

ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਬਲੁ ਆਪਿ ਹੈ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਬਲੁ ਭੰਨੈ ਮੂਰਖ ਮੁਗਧਾਹਾ ॥੩॥

Aapé hee bal aap hæ pi▫aaraa bal bʰannæ moorakʰ mugḋʰaahaa. ||3||

The Beloved Himself, by Himself, is the embodiment of power; He shatters the power of the fools and idiots. ||3||

ਸਭੁ ਆਪੇ ਜਗਤੁ ਉਪਾਇਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਵਸਿ ਆਪੇ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਹਥਾਹਾ ॥

Sabʰ aapé jagaṫ upaa▫iḋaa pi▫aaraa vas aapé jugaṫ haṫʰaahaa.

The Beloved Himself created the whole world. In His hands He holds the power of the ages.
