jo man raatay har rang laa-ay.
Those being whose minds are imbued and drenched with the Lord's Love

iqn kw jnm mrx duKu lwQw qy hir drgh imly suBwie ]1] rhwau ] (362-1)
tin kaa janam maran dukh laathaa tay har dargeh milay subhaa-ay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
- their pains of birth and death are taken away. They are automatically ushered into the Court of the Lord. ||1||Pause||

sbdu cwKY swcw swdu pwey ] (362-2)
sabad chaakhai saachaa saad paa-ay.
One who has tasted the Shabad, obtains the true flavor.

hir kw nwmu mMin vswey ] (362-2)
har kaa naam man vasaa-ay.
The Name of the Lord abides within his mind.

hir pRBu sdw rihAw BrpUir ] (362-2)
har parabh sadaa rahi-aa bharpoor.
The Lord God is Eternal and All-pervading.

Awpy nyVY Awpy dUir ]2] (362-3)
aapay nayrhai aapay door. ||2||
He Himself is near, and He Himself is far away. ||2||

AwKix AwKY bkY sBu koie ] (362-3)
aakhan aakhai bakai sabh ko-ay.
Everyone talks and speaks through speech;

Awpy bKis imlwey soie ] (362-3)
aapay bakhas milaa-ay so-ay.
the Lord Himself forgives, and unites us with Himself.

khxY kQin n pwieAw jwie ] (362-4)
kahnai kathan na paa-i-aa jaa-ay.
By merely speaking and talking, He is not obtained.

gur prswid vsY min Awie ]3] (362-4)
gur parsaad vasai man aa-ay. ||3||
By Guru's Grace, He comes to abide in the mind. ||3||

gurmuiK ivchu Awpu gvwie ] (362-4)
gurmukh vichahu aap gavaa-ay.
The Gurmukh eradicates his self-conceit from within.

hir rMig rwqy mohu cukwie ] (362-5)
har rang raatay moh chukaa-ay.
He is imbued with the Lord's Love, having discarded worldly attachment.

Aiq inrmlu gur sbd vIcwr ] (362-5)
at nirmal gur sabad veechaar.
He contemplates the utterly Immaculate Word of the Guru's Shabad.

naanak naam savaaranhaar. ||4||4||43||
O Nanak, the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is our Salvation. ||4||4||43||

Aasaa, Third Mehl:

dUjY Bwie lgy duKu pwieAw ] (362-6)
doojai bhaa-ay lagay dukh paa-i-aa.
Attached to the love of duality, one only incurs pain.

ibnu sbdY ibrQw jnmu gvwieAw ] (362-6)
bin sabdai birthaa janam gavaa-i-aa.
Without the Word of the Shabad, one's life is wasted away in vain.

siqguru syvY soJI hoie ] (362-7)
satgur sayvai sojhee ho-ay.
Serving the True Guru, understanding is obtained,

dUjY Bwie n lwgY koie ]1] (362-7)
doojai bhaa-ay na laagai ko-ay. ||1||
and then, one is not attached to the love of duality. ||1||

mUil lwgy sy jn prvwxu ] (362-7)
mool laagay say jan parvaan.
Those who hold fast to their roots, become acceptable.

Anidnu rwm nwmu jip ihrdY gur sbdI hir eyko jwxu ]1] rhwau ] (362-7)
an-din raam naam jap hirdai gur sabdee har ayko jaan. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Night and day, they meditate within their hearts on the Lord's Name; through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, they know the One Lord. ||1||Pause||

daalee laagai nihfal jaa-ay.
One who is attached to the branch, does not receive the fruits.

AMDˆØI kMmI AMD sjwie ] (362-8)
aNDheeN kammee anDh sajaa-ay.
For blind actions, blind punishment is received.

mnmuKu AMDw Taur n pwie ] (362-9)
manmukh anDhaa tha-ur na paa-ay.
The blind, self-willed manmukh finds no place of rest.

ibstw kw kIVw ibstw mwih pcwie ]2] (362-9)
bistaa kaa keerhaa bistaa maahi pachaa-ay. ||2||
He is a maggot in manure, and in manure he shall rot away. ||2||

gur kI syvw sdw suKu pwey ] (362-9)
gur kee sayvaa sadaa sukh paa-ay.
Serving the Guru, everlasting peace is obtained.

sMqsMgiq imil hir gux gwey ] (362-10)
santsangat mil har gun gaa-ay.
Joining the True Congregation, the Sat Sangat, the Glorious Praises of the Lord are sung.

nwmy nwim kry vIcwru ] (362-10)
naamay naam karay veechaar.
One who contemplates the Naam, the Name of the Lord,

Awip qrY kul auDrxhwru ]3] (362-10)
aap tarai kul uDhranhaar. ||3||
saves himself, and his family as well. ||3||

gur kI bwxI nwim vjwey ] (362-11)
gur kee banee naam vajaa-ay.
Through the Word of the Guru's Bani, the Naam resounds;

nwnk mhlu sbid Gru pwey ] (362-11)
naanak mahal sabad ghar paa-ay.
O Nanak, through the Word of the Shabad, one finds the Mansion of the Lord's Presence within the home of the heart.

gurmiq sq sir hir jil nwieAw ] (362-11)
gurmat sat sar har jal naa-i-aa.
Under Guru's Instruction, bathe in the Pool of Truth, in the Water of the Lord;

durmiq mYlu sBu durqu gvwieAw ]4]5]44] (362-12)
durmat mail sabh durat gavaa-i-aa. ||4||5||44||
thus the filth of evil-mindedness and sin shall all be washed away. ||4||5||44||

aasaa mehlaa 3.
Aasaa, Third Mehl:

mnmuK mrih mir mrxu ivgwVih ] (362-13)
manmukh mareh mar maran vigaarheh.
The self-willed manmukhs are dying; they are wasting away in death.

dUjY Bwie Awqm sMGwrih ] (362-13)
doojai bhaa-ay aatam sanghaareh.
In the love of duality, they murder their own souls.

myrw myrw kir kir ivgUqw ] (362-13)
mayraa mayraa kar kar vigootaa.
Crying out, "Mine, mine!", they are ruined.

Awqmu n cIn@Y BrmY ivic sUqw ]1] (362-14)
aatam na cheenHai bharmai vich sootaa. ||1||
They do not remember their souls; they are asleep in superstition. ||1||

mru muieAw sbdy mir jwie ] (362-14)
mar mu-i-aa sabday mar jaa-ay.
He alone dies a real death, who dies in the Word of the Shabad.

ausqiq inMdw guir sm jwxweI iesu jug mih lwhw hir jip lY jwie ]1] rhwau ] (362-14)
ustat nindaa gur sam jaanaa-ee is jug meh laahaa har jap lai jaa-ay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
The Guru has inspired me to realize, that praise and slander are one and the same; in this world, the profit is obtained by chanting the Name of the Lord. ||1||Pause||

naam vihoon garabh gal jaa-ay.
Those who lack the Naam, the Name of the Lord, are dissolved within the womb.

ibrQw jnmu dUjY loBwie ] (362-15)
birthaa janam doojai lobhaa-ay.
Useless is the birth of those who are lured by duality.

nwm ibhUxI duiK jlY sbweI ] (362-16)
naam bihoonee dukh jalai sabaa-ee.
Without the Naam, all are burning in pain.

siqguir pUrY bUJ buJweI ]2] (362-16)
satgur poorai boojh bujhaa-ee. ||2||
The Perfect True Guru has given me this understanding. ||2||

mnu cMclu bhu cotw Kwie ] (362-16)
man chanchal baho chotaa khaa-ay.
The fickle mind is struck down so many times.

eyQhu CuVikAw Taur n pwie ] (362-17)
aythahu chhurhki-aa tha-ur na paa-ay.
Having lost this opportunity, no place of rest shall be found.

grB join ivstw kw vwsu ] (362-17)
garabh jon vistaa kaa vaas.
Cast into the womb of reincarnation, the mortal lives in manure;

iqqu Gir mnmuKu kry invwsu ]3] (362-17)
tit ghar manmukh karay nivaas. ||3||
in such a home, the self-willed manmukh takes up residence. ||3||

Apuny siqgur kau sdw bil jweI ] (362-18)
apunay satgur ka-o sadaa bal jaa-ee.
I am forever a sacrifice to my True Guru;

gurmuiK joqI joiq imlweI ] (362-18)
gurmukh jotee jot milaa-ee.
the light of the Gurmukh blends with the Divine Light of the Lord.

inrml bwxI inj Gir vwsw ] (362-18)
nirmal banee nij ghar vaasaa.
Through the Immaculate Bani of the Word, the mortal dwells within the home of his own inner self.

naanak ha-umai maaray sadaa udaasaa. ||4||6||45||
O Nanak, he conquers his ego, and remains forever detached. ||4||6||45||
