gur kaa darsan agam apaaraa. ||1||
but the Guru's system is profound and unequalled. ||1||

gur kY drsin mukiq giq hoie ] (361-1)
gur kai darsan mukat gat ho-ay.
The Guru's system is the way to liberation.

swcw Awip vsY min soie ]1] rhwau ] (361-1)
saachaa aap vasai man so-ay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
The True Lord Himself comes to dwell in the mind. ||1||Pause||

gur drsin auDrY sMswrw ] (361-2)
gur darsan uDhrai sansaaraa.
Through the Guru's system, the world is saved,

jy ko lwey Bwau ipAwrw ] (361-2)
jay ko laa-ay bhaa-o pi-aaraa.
if it is embraced with love and affection.

Bwau ipAwrw lwey ivrlw koie ] (361-2)
bhaa-o pi-aaraa laa-ay virlaa ko-ay.
How rare is that person who truly loves the Guru's Way.

gur kY drsin sdw suKu hoie ]2] (361-3)
gur kai darsan sadaa sukh ho-ay. ||2||
Through the Guru's system, everlasting peace is obtained. ||2||

gur kY drsin moK duAwru ] (361-3)
gur kai darsan mokh du-aar.
Through the Guru's system, the Door of Salvation is obtained.

siqguru syvY prvwr swDwru ] (361-3)
satgur sayvai parvaar saaDhaar.
Serving the True Guru, one's family is saved.

ingury kau giq kweI nwhI ] (361-4)
niguray ka-o gat kaa-ee naahee.
There is no salvation for those who have no Guru.

Avgix muTy cotw KwhI ]3] (361-4)
avgan muthay chotaa khaahee. ||3||
Beguiled by worthless sins, they are struck down. ||3||

gur kY sbid suKu sWiq srIr ] (361-4)
gur kai sabad sukh saaNt sareer.
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, the body finds peace and tranquility.

gurmuiK qw kau lgY n pIr ] (361-5)
gurmukh taa ka-o lagai na peer.
The Gurmukh is not afflicted by pain.

jmkwlu iqsu nyiV n AwvY ] (361-5)
jamkaal tis nayrh na aavai.
The Messenger of Death does not come near him.

nwnk gurmuiK swic smwvY ]4]1]40] (361-5)
naanak gurmukh saach samaavai. ||4||1||40||
O Nanak, the Gurmukh is absorbed in the True Lord. ||4||1||40||

aasaa mehlaa 3.
Aasaa, Third Mehl:

sbid muAw ivchu Awpu gvwie ] (361-6)
sabad mu-aa vichahu aap gavaa-ay.
One who dies in the Word of the Shabad, eradicates his self-conceit from within.

siqguru syvy iqlu n qmwie ] (361-6)
satgur sayvay til na tamaa-ay.
He serves the True Guru, with no iota of self-interest.

inrBau dwqw sdw min hoie ] (361-7)
nirbha-o daataa sadaa man ho-ay.
The Fearless Lord, the Great Giver, ever abides in his mind.

scI bwxI pwey Bwig koie ]1] (361-7)
sachee banee paa-ay bhaag ko-ay. ||1||
The True Bani of the Word is obtained only by good destiny. ||1||

gux sMgRhu ivchu Aaugux jwih ] (361-7)
gun sangrahu vichahu a-ogun jaahi.
So gather merits, and let your demerits depart from within you.

pUry gur kY sbid smwih ]1] rhwau ] (361-8)
pooray gur kai sabad samaahi. ||1|| rahaa-o.
You shall be absorbed into the Shabad, the Word of the Perfect Guru. ||1||Pause||

guxw kw gwhku hovY so gux jwxY ] (361-8)
gunaa kaa gaahak hovai so gun jaanai.
One who purchases merits, knows the value of these merits.

AMimRq sbid nwmu vKwxY ] (361-8)
amrit sabad naam vakhaanai.
He chants the Ambrosial Nectar of the Word, and the Name of the Lord.

swcI bwxI sUcw hoie ] (361-9)
saachee banee soochaa ho-ay.
Through the True Bani of the Word, he becomes pure.

gux qy nwmu prwpiq hoie ]2] (361-9)
gun tay naam paraapat ho-ay. ||2||
Through merit, the Name is obtained. ||2||

gux Amolk pwey n jwih ] (361-9)
gun amolak paa-ay na jaahi.
The invaluable merits cannot be acquired.

min inrml swcY sbid smwih ] (361-9)
man nirmal saachai sabad samaahi.
The pure mind is absorbed into the True Word of the Shabad.

sy vfBwgI ijn@ nwmu iDAwieAw ] (361-10)
say vadbhaagee jinH naam Dhi-aa-i-aa.
How very fortunate are those who meditate on the Naam,

sdw guxdwqw mMin vswieAw ]3] (361-10)
sadaa gundaataa man vasaa-i-aa. ||3||
and ever enshrine in their minds the Lord, the Giver of merit. ||3||

jo gux sMgRhY iqn@ bilhwrY jwau ] (361-11)
jo gun sangrahai tinH balihaarai jaa-o.
I am a sacrifice to those who gather merits.

dar saachai saachay gun gaa-o.
At the Gate of Truth, I sing the Glorious Praises of the True One.

Awpy dyvY shij suBwie ] (361-11)
aapay dayvai sahj subhaa-ay.
He Himself spontaneously bestows His gifts.

naanak keemat kahan na jaa-ay. ||4||2||41||
O Nanak, the value of the Lord cannot be described. ||4||2||41||

Aasaa, Third Mehl:

siqgur ivic vfI vifAweI ] (361-12)
satgur vich vadee vadi-aa-ee.
Great is the greatness of the True Guru;

icrI ivCuMny myil imlweI ] (361-12)
chiree vichhunay mayl milaa-ee.
He merges in His Merger, those who have been separated for so long.

Awpy myly myil imlwey ] (361-13)
aapay maylay mayl milaa-ay.
He Himself merges the merged in His Merger.

AwpxI kImiq Awpy pwey ]1] (361-13)
aapnee keemat aapay paa-ay. ||1||
He Himself knows His own worth. ||1||

hir kI kImiq ikn ibiD hoie ] (361-13)
har kee keemat kin biDh ho-ay.
How can anyone appraise the Lord's worth?

hir AprMpru Agm Agocru gur kY sbid imlY jnu koie ]1] rhwau ] (361-14)
har aprampar agam agochar gur kai sabad milai jan ko-ay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, one may merge with the Infinite, Unapproachable and Incomprehensible Lord. ||1||Pause||

gurmuiK kImiq jwxY koie ] (361-15)
gurmukh keemat jaanai ko-ay.
Few are the Gurmukhs who know His worth.

ivrly krim prwpiq hoie ] (361-15)
virlay karam paraapat ho-ay.
How rare are those who receive the Lord's Grace.

aUcI bwxI aUcw hoie ] (361-15)
oochee banee oochaa ho-ay.
Through the Sublime Bani of His Word, one becomes sublime.

gurmuiK sbid vKwxY koie ]2] (361-15)
gurmukh sabad vakhaanai ko-ay. ||2||
The Gurmukh chants the Word of the Shabad. ||2||

ivxu nwvY duKu drdu srIir ] (361-16)
vin naavai dukh darad sareer.
Without the Name, the body suffers in pain;

siqguru Byty qw auqrY pIr ] (361-16)
satgur bhaytay taa utrai peer.
but when one meets the True Guru, then that pain is removed.

ibnu gur Byty duKu kmwie ] (361-16)
bin gur bhaytay dukh kamaa-ay.
Without meeting the Guru, the mortal earns only pain.

mnmuiK bhuqI imlY sjwie ]3] (361-17)
manmukh bahutee milai sajaa-ay. ||3||
The self-willed manmukh receives only more punishment. ||3||

hir kw nwmu mITw Aiq rsu hoie ] (361-17)
har kaa naam meethaa at ras ho-ay.
The essence of the Lord's Name is so very sweet;

pIvq rhY pIAwey soie ] (361-17)
peevat rahai pee-aa-ay so-ay.
he alone drinks it, whom the Lord causes to drink it.

gur ikrpw qy hir rsu pwey ] (361-18)
gur kirpaa tay har ras paa-ay.
By Guru's Grace, the essence of the Lord is obtained.

naanak naam ratay gat paa-ay. ||4||3||42||
O Nanak, imbued with the Naam, the Name of the Lord, salvation is attained. ||4||3||42||

myrw pRBu swcw gihr gMBIr ] (361-19)
mayraa parabh saachaa gahir gambheer.
My God is True, deep and profound.

sayvat hee sukh saaNt sareer.
Serving Him, the body acquires peace and tranquility.

sbid qry jn shij suBwie ] (361-19)
sabad taray jan sahj subhaa-ay.
Through the Word of the Shabad, His humble servants easily swim across.

tin kai ham sad laagah paa-ay. ||1||
I fall at their feet forever and ever. ||1||
