125 gurmuiK jIvY mrY prvwxu ] (125-1)gurmukh jeevai marai parvaan. The Gurmukhs are celebrated in life and death. Awrjw n CIjY sbdu pCwxu ] (125-1)aarjaa na chheejai sabad pachhaan. Their lives are not wasted; they realize the Word of the Shabad. gurmuiK mrY n kwlu n Kwey gurmuiK sic smwvixAw ]2] (125-2)gurmukh marai na kaal na khaa-ay gurmukh sach samaavani-aa. ||2|| The Gurmukhs do not die; they are not consumed by death. The Gurmukhs are absorbed in the True Lord. ||2|| gurmuiK hir dir soBw pwey ] (125-2)gurmukh har dar sobhaa paa-ay. The Gurmukhs are honored in the Court of the Lord. gurmuiK ivchu Awpu gvwey ] (125-2)gurmukh vichahu aap gavaa-ay. The Gurmukhs eradicate selfishness and conceit from within. Awip qrY kul sgly qwry gurmuiK jnmu svwrixAw ]3] (125-3)aap tarai kul saglay taaray gurmukh janam savaarni-aa. ||3|| They save themselves, and save all their families and ancestors as well. The Gurmukhs redeem their lives. ||3|| gurmuiK duKu kdy n lgY srIir ] (125-3)gurmukh dukh kaday na lagai sareer. The Gurmukhs never suffer bodily pain. gurmuiK haumY cUkY pIr ] (125-4)gurmukh ha-umai chookai peer. The Gurmukhs have the pain of egotism taken away. gurmuiK mnu inrmlu iPir mYlu n lwgY gurmuiK shij smwvixAw ]4] (125-4)gurmukh man nirmal fir mail na laagai gurmukh sahj samaavani-aa. ||4|| The minds of the Gurmukhs are immaculate and pure; no filth ever sticks to them again. The Gurmukhs merge in celestial peace. ||4|| gurmuiK nwmu imlY vifAweI ] (125-5)gurmukh naam milai vadi-aa-ee. The Gurmukhs obtain the Greatness of the Naam. gurmuiK gux gwvY soBw pweI ] (125-5)gurmukh gun gaavai sobhaa paa-ee. The Gurmukhs sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, and obtain honor. sdw Anµid rhY idnu rwqI gurmuiK sbdu krwvixAw ]5] (125-5)sadaa anand rahai din raatee gurmukh sabad karaavani-aa. ||5|| They remain in bliss forever, day and night. The Gurmukhs practice the Word of the Shabad. ||5|| gurmuiK Anidnu sbdy rwqw ] (125-6)gurmukh an-din sabday raataa. The Gurmukhs are attuned to the Shabad, night and day. gurmuiK jug cwry hY jwqw ] (125-6)gurmukh jug chaaray hai jaataa. The Gurmukhs are known throughout the four ages. gurmuiK gux gwvY sdw inrmlu sbdy Bgiq krwvixAw ]6] (125-7)gurmukh gun gaavai sadaa nirmal sabday bhagat karaavani-aa. ||6|| The Gurmukhs always sing the Glorious Praises of the Immaculate Lord. Through the Shabad, they practice devotional worship. ||6|| bwJu gurU hY AMD AMDwrw ] (125-7)baajh guroo hai anDh anDhaaraa. Without the Guru, there is only pitch-black darkness. jmkwil grTy krih pukwrw ] (125-8)jamkaal garthay karahi pukaaraa. Seized by the Messenger of Death, people cry out and scream. Anidnu rogI ibstw ky kIVy ibstw mih duKu pwvixAw ]7] (125-8)an-din rogee bistaa kay keerhay bistaa meh dukh paavni-aa. ||7|| Night and day, they are diseased, like maggots in manure, and in manure they endure agony. ||7|| gurmuiK Awpy kry krwey ] (125-9)gurmukh aapay karay karaa-ay. The Gurmukhs know that the Lord alone acts, and causes others to act. gurmuiK ihrdY vuTw Awip Awey ] (125-9)gurmukh hirdai vuthaa aap aa-ay. In the hearts of the Gurmukhs, the Lord Himself comes to dwell. nwnk nwim imlY vifAweI pUry gur qy pwvixAw ]8]25]26] (125-9)naanak naam milai vadi-aa-ee pooray gur tay paavni-aa. ||8||25||26|| O Nanak, through the Naam, greatness is obtained. The One Light is the light of all bodies. sbid idKwey siqguru pUrw ] (125-10)sabad dikhaa-ay satgur pooraa. The Perfect True Guru reveals it through the Word of the Shabad. Awpy Prku kIqonu Gt AMqir Awpy bxq bxwvixAw ]1] (125-11)aapay farak keeton ghat antar aapay banat banaavani-aa. ||1|| He Himself instills the sense of separation within our hearts; He Himself created the Creation. ||1|| hau vwrI jIau vwrI hir scy ky gux gwvixAw ] (125-11)ha-o vaaree jee-o vaaree har sachay kay gun gaavani-aa. I am a sacrifice, my soul is a sacrifice, to those who sing the Glorious Praises of the True Lord. bwJu gurU ko shju n pwey gurmuiK shij smwvixAw ]1] rhwau ] (125-12)baajh guroo ko sahj na paa-ay gurmukh sahj samaavani-aa. ||1|| rahaa-o. Without the Guru, no one obtains intuitive wisdom; the Gurmukh is absorbed in intuitive peace. ||1||Pause|| qUM Awpy sohih Awpy jgu mohih ] (125-13)tooN aapay soheh aapay jag moheh. You Yourself are Beautiful, and You Yourself entice the world. qUM Awpy ndrI jgqu provih ] (125-13)tooN aapay nadree jagat paroveh. You Yourself, by Your Kind Mercy, weave the thread of the world. qUM Awpy duKu suKu dyvih krqy gurmuiK hir dyKwvixAw ]2] (125-13)tooN aapay dukh sukh dayveh kartay gurmukh har daykhaavani-aa. ||2|| You Yourself bestow pain and pleasure, O Creator. The Lord reveals Himself to the Gurmukh. ||2|| Awpy krqw kry krwey ] (125-14)aapay kartaa karay karaa-ay. The Creator Himself acts, and causes others to act. Awpy sbdu gur mMin vswey ] (125-14)aapay sabad gur man vasaa-ay. Through Him, the Word of the Guru's Shabad is enshrined within the mind. sbdy aupjY AMimRq bwxI gurmuiK AwiK suxwvixAw ]3] (125-14)sabday upjai amrit banee gurmukh aakh sunaavni-aa. ||3|| The Ambrosial Word of the Guru's Bani emanates from the Word of the Shabad. The Gurmukh speaks it and hears it. ||3|| Awpy krqw Awpy Bugqw ] (125-15)aapay kartaa aapay bhugtaa. He Himself is the Creator, and He Himself is the Enjoyer. bMDn qoVy sdw hY mukqw ] (125-15)banDhan torhay sadaa hai muktaa. One who breaks out of bondage is liberated forever. sdw mukqu Awpy hY scw Awpy AlKu lKwvixAw ]4] (125-16)sadaa mukat aapay hai sachaa aapay alakh lakhaavani-aa. ||4|| The True Lord is liberated forever. The Unseen Lord causes Himself to be seen. ||4|| Awpy mwieAw Awpy CwieAw ] (125-16)aapay maa-i-aa aapay chhaa-i-aa. He Himself is Maya, and He Himself is the Illusion. Awpy mohu sBu jgqu aupwieAw ] (125-16)aapay moh sabh jagat upaa-i-aa. He Himself has generated emotional attachment throughout the entire universe. Awpy guxdwqw gux gwvY Awpy AwiK suxwvixAw ]5] (125-17)aapay gundaataa gun gaavai aapay aakh sunaavni-aa. ||5|| He Himself is the Giver of Virtue; He Himself sings the Lord's Glorious Praises. He chants them and causes them to be heard. ||5|| Awpy kry krwey Awpy ] (125-17)aapay karay karaa-ay aapay. He Himself acts, and causes others to act. Awpy Qwip auQwpy Awpy ] (125-18)aapay thaap uthaapay aapay. He Himself establishes and disestablishes. quJ qy bwhir kCU n hovY qUM Awpy kwrY lwvixAw ]6] (125-18)tujh tay baahar kachhoo na hovai tooN aapay kaarai laavani-aa. ||6|| Without You, nothing can be done. You Yourself have engaged all in their tasks. ||6|| Awpy mwry Awip jIvwey ] (125-19)aapay maaray aap jeevaa-ay. He Himself kills, and He Himself revives. Awpy myly myil imlwey ] (125-19)aapay maylay mayl milaa-ay. He Himself unites us, and unites us in Union with Himself. syvw qy sdw suKu pwieAw gurmuiK shij smwvixAw ]7] (125-19)sayvaa tay sadaa sukh paa-i-aa gurmukh sahj samaavani-aa. ||7|| Through selfless service, eternal peace is obtained.
