mwieAw mohu iesu mnih ncwey AMqir kptu duKu pwvixAw ]4] (122-1)
maa-i-aa moh is maneh nachaa-ay antar kapat dukh paavni-aa. ||4||
The love of Maya makes this mind dance, and the deceit within makes people suffer in pain. ||4||

gurmuiK Bgiq jw Awip krwey ] (122-1)
gurmukh bhagat jaa aap karaa-ay.
When the Lord inspires one to become Gurmukh, and perform devotional worship,

qnu mnu rwqw shij suBwey ] (122-2)
tan man raataa sahj subhaa-ay.
then his body and mind are attuned to His Love with intuitive ease.

bwxI vjY sbid vjwey gurmuiK Bgiq Qwie pwvixAw ]5] (122-2)
banee vajai sabad vajaa-ay gurmukh bhagat thaa-ay paavni-aa. ||5||
The Word of His Bani vibrates, and the Word of His Shabad resounds, for the Gurmukh whose devotional worship is accepted. ||5||

bhu qwl pUry vwjy vjwey ] (122-3)
baho taal pooray vaajay vajaa-ay.
One may beat upon and play all sorts of instruments,

nw ko suxy n mMin vswey ] (122-3)
naa ko sunay na man vasaa-ay.
but no one will listen, and no one will enshrine it in the mind.

mwieAw kwrix ipV bMiD nwcY dUjY Bwie duKu pwvixAw ]6] (122-3)
maa-i-aa kaaran pirh banDh naachai doojai bhaa-ay dukh paavni-aa. ||6||
For the sake of Maya, they set the stage and dance, but they are in love with duality, and they obtain only sorrow. ||6||

ijsu AMqir pRIiq lgY so mukqw ] (122-4)
jis antar pareet lagai so muktaa.
Those whose inner beings are attached to the Lord's Love are liberated.

ieMdRI vis sc sMjim jugqw ] (122-4)
indree vas sach sanjam jugtaa.
They control their sexual desires, and their lifestyle is the self-discipline of Truth.

gur kY sbid sdw hir iDAwey eyhw Bgiq hir BwvixAw ]7] (122-5)
gur kai sabad sadaa har Dhi-aa-ay ayhaa bhagat har bhaavni-aa. ||7||
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, they meditate forever on the Lord. This devotional worship is pleasing to the Lord. ||7||

gurmuiK Bgiq jug cwry hoeI ] (122-5)
gurmukh bhagat jug chaaray ho-ee.
To live as Gurmukh is devotional worship, throughout the four ages.

horqu Bgiq n pwey koeI ] (122-6)
horat bhagat na paa-ay ko-ee.
This devotional worship is not obtained by any other means.

naanak naam gur bhagtee paa-ee-ai gur charnee chit laavani-aa. ||8||20||21||
O Nanak, the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is obtained only through devotion to the Guru. So focus your consciousness on the Guru's Feet. ||8||20||21||

maajh mehlaa 3.
Maajh, Third Mehl:

scw syvI scu swlwhI ] (122-7)
sachaa sayvee sach saalaahee.
Serve the True One, and praise the True One.

scY nwie duKu kb hI nwhI ] (122-7)
sachai naa-ay dukh kab hee naahee.
With the True Name, pain shall never afflict you.

suKdwqw syvin suKu pwiein gurmiq mMin vswvixAw ]1] (122-7)
sukh-daata sayvan sukh paa-in gurmat man vasaavani-aa. ||1||
Those who serve the Giver of peace find peace. They enshrine the Guru's Teachings within their minds. ||1||

hau vwrI jIau vwrI suK shij smwiD lgwvixAw ] (122-8)
ha-o vaaree jee-o vaaree sukh sahj samaaDh lagaavani-aa.
I am a sacrifice, my soul is a sacrifice, to those who intuitively enter into the peace of Samaadhi.

jo hir syvih sy sdw sohih soBw suriq suhwvixAw ]1] rhwau ] (122-9)
jo har sayveh say sadaa soheh sobhaa surat suhaavani-aa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Those who serve the Lord are always beautiful. The glory of their intuitive awareness is beautiful. ||1||Pause||

sBu ko qyrw Bgqu khwey ] (122-9)
sabh ko tayraa bhagat kahaa-ay.
All call themselves Your devotees,

syeI Bgq qyrY min Bwey ] (122-10)
say-ee bhagat tayrai man bhaa-ay.
but they alone are Your devotees, who are pleasing to Your mind.

scu bwxI quDY swlwhin rMig rwqy Bgiq krwvixAw ]2] (122-10)
sach banee tuDhai saalaahan rang raatay bhagat karaavani-aa. ||2||
Through the True Word of Your Bani, they praise You; attuned to Your Love, they worship You with devotion. ||2||

sBu ko scy hir jIau qyrw ] (122-10)
sabh ko sachay har jee-o tayraa.
All are Yours, O Dear True Lord.

gurmuiK imlY qw cUkY Pyrw ] (122-11)
gurmukh milai taa chookai fayraa.
Meeting the Gurmukh, this cycle of reincarnation comes to an end.

jw quDu BwvY qw nwie rcwvih qUM Awpy nwau jpwvixAw ]3] (122-11)
jaa tuDh bhaavai taa naa-ay rachaaveh tooN aapay naa-o japaavani-aa. ||3||
When it pleases Your Will, then we merge in the Name. You Yourself inspire us to chant the Name. ||3||

gurmqI hir mMin vswieAw ] (122-12)
gurmatee har man vasaa-i-aa.
Through the Guru's Teachings, I enshrine the Lord within my mind.

hrKu sogu sBu mohu gvwieAw ] (122-12)
harakh sog sabh moh gavaa-i-aa.
Pleasure and pain, and all emotional attachments are gone.

ieksu isau ilv lwgI sd hI hir nwmu mMin vswvixAw ]4] (122-12)
ikas si-o liv laagee sad hee har naam man vasaavani-aa. ||4||
I am lovingly centered on the One Lord forever. I enshrine the Lord's Name within my mind. ||4||

Bgq rMig rwqy sdw qyrY cwey ] (122-13)
bhagat rang raatay sadaa tayrai chaa-ay.
Your devotees are attuned to Your Love; they are always joyful.

nau iniD nwmu visAw min Awey ] (122-13)
na-o niDh naam vasi-aa man aa-ay.
The nine treasures of the Naam come to dwell within their minds.

pUrY Bwig siqguru pwieAw sbdy myil imlwvixAw ]5] (122-14)
poorai bhaag satgur paa-i-aa sabday mayl milaavani-aa. ||5||
By perfect destiny, they find the True Guru, and through the Word of the Shabad, they are united in the Lord's Union. ||5||

qUM dieAwlu sdw suKdwqw ] (122-14)
tooN da-i-aal sadaa sukh-daata.
You are Merciful, and always the Giver of peace.

qUM Awpy myilih gurmuiK jwqw ] (122-15)
tooN aapay mayleh gurmukh jaataa.
You Yourself unite us; You are known only to the Gurmukhs.

qUM Awpy dyvih nwmu vfweI nwim rqy suKu pwvixAw ]6] (122-15)
tooN aapay dayveh naam vadaa-ee naam ratay sukh paavni-aa. ||6||
You Yourself bestow the glorious greatness of the Naam; attuned to the Naam, we find peace. ||6||

sdw sdw swcy quDu swlwhI ] (122-16)
sadaa sadaa saachay tuDh saalaahee.
Forever and ever, O True Lord, I praise You.

gurmuiK jwqw dUjw ko nwhI ] (122-16)
gurmukh jaataa doojaa ko naahee.
As Gurmukh, I know no other at all.

eyksu isau mnu rihAw smwey min mMinAY mnih imlwvixAw ]7] (122-16)
aykas si-o man rahi-aa samaa-ay man mani-ai maneh milaavani-aa. ||7||
My mind remains immersed in the One Lord; my mind surrenders to Him, and in my mind I meet Him. ||7||

gurmuiK hovY so swlwhy ] (122-17)
gurmukh hovai so saalaahay.
One who becomes Gurmukh, praises the Lord.

swcy Twkur vyprvwhy ] (122-17)
saachay thaakur vayparvaahay.
Our True Lord and Master is Carefree.

naanak naam vasai man antar gur sabdee har maylaavani-aa. ||8||21||22||
O Nanak, the Naam, the Name of the Lord, abides deep within the mind; through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, we merge with the Lord. ||8||21||22||

tayray bhagat soheh saachai darbaaray.
Your devotees look beautiful in the True Court.

gur kai sabad naam savaaray.
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, they are adorned with the Naam.

sdw Anµid rhih idnu rwqI gux kih guxI smwvixAw ]1] (122-19)
sadaa anand raheh din raatee gun kahi gunee samaavani-aa. ||1||
They are forever in bliss, day and night; chanting the Glorious Praises of the Lord, they merge with the Lord of Glory. ||1||
