637 ਬਿਖੁ ਮਾਇਆ ਚਿਤੁ ਮੋਹਿਆ ਭਾਈ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ਪਤਿ ਖੋਇ ॥ Bikʰ maa▫i▫aa chiṫ mohi▫aa bʰaa▫ee chaṫuraa▫ee paṫ kʰo▫é. The poisonous Maya has enticed the consciousness, O Siblings of Destiny; through clever tricks, one loses his honor. ਚਿਤ ਮਹਿ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਸਚਿ ਵਸੈ ਭਾਈ ਜੇ ਗੁਰ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਸਮੋਇ ॥੨॥ Chiṫ mėh tʰaakur sach vasæ bʰaa▫ee jé gur gi▫aan samo▫é. ||2|| The True Lord and Master abides in the consciousness, O Siblings of Destiny, if the Guru’s spiritual wisdom permeates it. ||2|| ਰੂੜੌ ਰੂੜੌ ਆਖੀਐ ਭਾਈ ਰੂੜੌ ਲਾਲ ਚਲੂਲੁ ॥ Rooṛou rooṛou aakʰee▫æ bʰaa▫ee rooṛou laal chalool. Beautiful, beautiful, the Lord is called, O Siblings of Destiny; beautiful, like the deep crimson color of the poppy. ਜੇ ਮਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਬੈਰਾਗੀਐ ਭਾਈ ਦਰਿ ਘਰਿ ਸਾਚੁ ਅਭੂਲੁ ॥੩॥ Jé man har si▫o bæraagee▫æ bʰaa▫ee ḋar gʰar saach abʰool. ||3|| If man loves the Lord with detachment, O Siblings of Destiny, he is judged to be true and infallible in the Lord’s court and home. ||3|| ਪਾਤਾਲੀ ਆਕਾਸਿ ਤੂ ਭਾਈ ਘਰਿ ਘਰਿ ਤੂ ਗੁਣ ਗਿਆਨੁ ॥ Paaṫaalee aakaas ṫoo bʰaa▫ee gʰar gʰar ṫoo guṇ gi▫aan. You are pervading the realms of the underworld and the heavenly skies; Your wisdom and glories are in each and every heart. ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਭਾਈ ਚੂਕਾ ਮਨਹੁ ਗੁਮਾਨੁ ॥੪॥ Gur mili▫æ sukʰ paa▫i▫aa bʰaa▫ee chookaa manhu gumaan. ||4|| Meeting with the Guru, one finds peace, O Siblings of Destiny, and pride is dispelled from the mind. ||4|| ਜਲਿ ਮਲਿ ਕਾਇਆ ਮਾਜੀਐ ਭਾਈ ਭੀ ਮੈਲਾ ਤਨੁ ਹੋਇ ॥ Jal mal kaa▫i▫aa maajee▫æ bʰaa▫ee bʰee mælaa ṫan ho▫é. Scrubbing with water, the body can be cleaned, O Siblings of Destiny, but the body becomes dirty again. ਗਿਆਨਿ ਮਹਾ ਰਸਿ ਨਾਈਐ ਭਾਈ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੫॥ Gi▫aan mahaa ras naa▫ee▫æ bʰaa▫ee man ṫan nirmal ho▫é. ||5|| Bathing in the supreme essence of spiritual wisdom, O Siblings of Destiny, the mind and body become pure. ||5|| ਦੇਵੀ ਦੇਵਾ ਪੂਜੀਐ ਭਾਈ ਕਿਆ ਮਾਗਉ ਕਿਆ ਦੇਹਿ ॥ Ḋévee ḋévaa poojee▫æ bʰaa▫ee ki▫aa maaga▫o ki▫aa ḋėh. Why worship gods and goddesses, O Siblings of Destiny? What can we ask of them? What can they give us? ਪਾਹਣੁ ਨੀਰਿ ਪਖਾਲੀਐ ਭਾਈ ਜਲ ਮਹਿ ਬੂਡਹਿ ਤੇਹਿ ॥੬॥ Paahaṇ neer pakʰaalee▫æ bʰaa▫ee jal mėh booḋʰėh ṫéhi. ||6|| The stone gods are washed with water, O Siblings of Destiny, but they just sink in the water. ||6|| ਗੁਰ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਲਖੁ ਨ ਲਖੀਐ ਭਾਈ ਜਗੁ ਬੂਡੈ ਪਤਿ ਖੋਇ ॥ Gur bin alakʰ na lakʰee▫æ bʰaa▫ee jag boodæ paṫ kʰo▫é. Without the Guru, the unseen Lord cannot be seen, O Siblings of Destiny; the world is drowning, having lost its honor. ਮੇਰੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਹਾਥਿ ਵਡਾਈਆ ਭਾਈ ਜੈ ਭਾਵੈ ਤੈ ਦੇਇ ॥੭॥ Méré tʰaakur haaṫʰ vadaa▫ee▫aa bʰaa▫ee jæ bʰaavæ ṫæ ḋé▫é. ||7|| Greatness is in the hands of my Lord and Master, O Siblings of Destiny; as He is pleased, He gives. ||7|| ਬਈਅਰਿ ਬੋਲੈ ਮੀਠੁਲੀ ਭਾਈ ਸਾਚੁ ਕਹੈ ਪਿਰ ਭਾਇ ॥ Ba▫ee▫ar bolæ meetʰulee bʰaa▫ee saach kahæ pir bʰaa▫é. That soul-bride, who talks sweetly and speaks the Truth, O Siblings of Destiny, becomes pleasing to her Husband Lord. ਬਿਰਹੈ ਬੇਧੀ ਸਚਿ ਵਸੀ ਭਾਈ ਅਧਿਕ ਰਹੀ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਇ ॥੮॥ Bir▫hæ béḋʰee sach vasee bʰaa▫ee aḋʰik rahee har naa▫é. ||8|| Pierced by His Love, she abides in Truth, O Siblings of Destiny, deeply imbued with the Lord’s Name. ||8|| ਸਭੁ ਕੋ ਆਖੈ ਆਪਣਾ ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਬੁਝੈ ਸੁਜਾਨੁ ॥ Sabʰ ko aakʰæ aapṇaa bʰaa▫ee gur ṫé bujʰæ sujaan. Everyone calls God his own, O Siblings of Destiny, but the all-knowing Lord is known only through the Guru. ਜੋ ਬੀਧੇ ਸੇ ਊਬਰੇ ਭਾਈ ਸਬਦੁ ਸਚਾ ਨੀਸਾਨੁ ॥੯॥ Jo beeḋʰé sé oobré bʰaa▫ee sabaḋ sachaa neesaan. ||9|| Those who are pierced by His Love are saved, O Siblings of Destiny; they bear the Insignia of the True Word of the Shabad. ||9|| ਈਧਨੁ ਅਧਿਕ ਸਕੇਲੀਐ ਭਾਈ ਪਾਵਕੁ ਰੰਚਕ ਪਾਇ ॥ Eeḋʰan aḋʰik sakélee▫æ bʰaa▫ee paavak ranchak paa▫é. A large pile of firewood, O Siblings of Destiny, will burn if a small fire is applied. ਖਿਨੁ ਪਲੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਵਸੈ ਭਾਈ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਿਲਣੁ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥੧੦॥੪॥ Kʰin pal naam riḋæ vasæ bʰaa▫ee Naanak milaṇ subʰaa▫é. ||10||4|| In the same way, if the Naam, the Name of the Lord, dwells in the heart for a moment, even for an instant, O Siblings of Destiny, then one meets the Lord with ease, O Nanak. ||10||4|| ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ਘਰੁ ੧ ਤਿਤੁਕੀ Soratʰ mėhlaa 3 gʰar 1 ṫiṫukee Sorat’h, Third Mehl, First House, Ti-Tukas: ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ Ik▫oaⁿkaar saṫgur parsaaḋ. One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru: ਭਗਤਾ ਦੀ ਸਦਾ ਤੂ ਰਖਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਧੁਰਿ ਤੂ ਰਖਦਾ ਆਇਆ ॥ Bʰagṫaa ḋee saḋaa ṫoo rakʰ▫ḋaa har jee▫o ḋʰur ṫoo rakʰ▫ḋaa aa▫i▫aa. You always preserve the honor of Your devotees, O Dear Lord; You have protected them from the very beginning of time. ਪ੍ਰਹਿਲਾਦ ਜਨ ਤੁਧੁ ਰਾਖਿ ਲਏ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਹਰਣਾਖਸੁ ਮਾਰਿ ਪਚਾਇਆ ॥ Par▫hilaaḋ jan ṫuḋʰ raakʰ la▫é har jee▫o harṇaakʰas maar pachaa▫i▫aa. You protected Your servant Prahlaad, O Dear Lord, and annihilated Harnaakhash. ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾ ਨੋ ਪਰਤੀਤਿ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ Gurmukʰaa no parṫeeṫ hæ har jee▫o manmukʰ bʰaram bʰulaa▫i▫aa. ||1|| The Gurmukhs place their faith in the Dear Lord, but the self-willed Manmukhs are deluded by doubt. ||1|| ਹਰਿ ਜੀ ਏਹ ਤੇਰੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥ Har jee éh ṫéree vadi▫aa▫ee. O Dear Lord, this is Your Glory. ਭਗਤਾ ਕੀ ਪੈਜ ਰਖੁ ਤੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਭਗਤ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ Bʰagṫaa kee pæj rakʰ ṫoo su▫aamee bʰagaṫ ṫéree sarṇaa▫ee. Rahaa▫o. You preserve the honor of Your devotees, O Lord Master; Your devotees seek Your Sanctuary. ||Pause|| ਭਗਤਾ ਨੋ ਜਮੁ ਜੋਹਿ ਨ ਸਾਕੈ ਕਾਲੁ ਨ ਨੇੜੈ ਜਾਈ ॥ Bʰagṫaa no jam johi na saakæ kaal na néṛæ jaa▫ee. The Messenger of Death cannot touch Your devotees; death cannot even approach them. ਕੇਵਲ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਨਾਮੇ ਹੀ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਪਾਈ ॥ Kéval raam naam man vasi▫aa naamé hee mukaṫ paa▫ee. The Name of the Lord alone abides in their minds; through the Naam, the Name of the Lord, they find liberation. ਰਿਧਿ ਸਿਧਿ ਸਭ ਭਗਤਾ ਚਰਣੀ ਲਾਗੀ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਈ ॥੨॥ Riḋʰ siḋʰ sabʰ bʰagṫaa charṇee laagee gur kæ sahj subʰaa▫ee. ||2|| Wealth and all the spiritual powers of the Siddhis fall at the feet of the Lord’s devotees; they obtain peace and poise from the Guru. ||2|| ਮਨਮੁਖਾ ਨੋ ਪਰਤੀਤਿ ਨ ਆਵੀ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਲੋਭ ਸੁਆਉ ॥ Manmukʰaa no parṫeeṫ na aavee anṫar lobʰ su▫aa▫o. The self-willed Manmukhs have no faith; they are filled with greed and self-interest. ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਸਬਦੁ ਨ ਭੇਦਿਓ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਨ ਲਾਗਾ ਭਾਉ ॥ Gurmukʰ hirḋæ sabaḋ na béḋi▫o har naam na laagaa bʰaa▫o. They are not Gurmukh - they do not understand the Word of the Shabad in their hearts; they do not love the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ਕੂੜ ਕਪਟ ਪਾਜੁ ਲਹਿ ਜਾਸੀ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਫੀਕਾ ਅਲਾਉ ॥੩॥ Kooṛ kapat paaj lėh jaasee manmukʰ feekaa alaa▫o. ||3|| Their masks of falsehood and hypocrisy shall fall off; the self-willed Manmukhs speak with insipid words. ||3|| ਭਗਤਾ ਵਿਚਿ ਆਪਿ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਹੂ ਤੂ ਜਾਤਾ ॥ Bʰagṫaa vich aap varaṫḋaa parabʰ jee bʰagṫee hoo ṫoo jaaṫaa. You are pervading through Your devotees, O Dear God; through Your devotees, You are known. ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹ ਸਭ ਲੋਕ ਹੈ ਤੇਰੀ ਤੂ ਏਕੋ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਬਿਧਾਤਾ ॥ Maa▫i▫aa moh sabʰ lok hæ ṫéree ṫoo éko purakʰ biḋʰaaṫaa. All the people are enticed by Maya; they are Yours, Lord - You alone are the Architect of Destiny. |
