ਪੂਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਭਗਤਿ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਏ ॥

Pooraa saṫgur bʱagaṫ driṛ▫aa▫é.

The Perfect True Guru implants devotional worship within.

ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਏ ॥

Gur kæ sabaḋ har naam chiṫ laa▫é.

Through the Word of the Guru’s Shabad, he lovingly centers his consciousness on the Lord’s Name.

ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਵਿਆ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਭੀਨੈ ਭਗਤਿ ਸਲਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੦॥

Man ṫan har ravi▫aa gʱat anṫar man bʱeenæ bʱagaṫ salaahaa hé. ||10||

The Lord pervades his mind, body and heart; deep within, his mind is drenched with devotional worship and praise of the Lord. ||10||

ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਅਸੁਰ ਸੰਘਾਰਣੁ ॥

Méraa parabʱ saachaa asur sangʱaaraṇ.

My True Lord God is the Destroyer of demons.

ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਨਿਸਤਾਰਣੁ ॥

Gur kæ sabaḋ bʱagaṫ nisṫaaraṇ.

Through the Word of the Guru’s Shabad, His devotees are saved.

ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਿਰਿ ਸਾਹਾ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੧॥

Méraa parabʱ saachaa saḋ hee saachaa sir saahaa paaṫisaahaa hé. ||11||

My True Lord God is forever True. He is the Emperor over the heads of kings. ||11||

ਸੇ ਭਗਤ ਸਚੇ ਤੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਏ ॥

Sé bʱagaṫ saché ṫéræ man bʱaa▫é.

True are those devotees, who are pleasing to Your Mind.

ਦਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਕਰਹਿ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੁਹਾਏ ॥

Ḏar keerṫan karahi gur sabaḋ suhaa▫é.

They sing the Kirtan of His Praises at His Door; they are embellished and exalted by the Word of the Guru’s Shabad.

ਸਾਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਨਿਰਧਨ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਵੇਸਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੨॥

Saachee baṇee an▫ḋin gaavahi nirḋʱan kaa naam vésaahaa hé. ||12||

Night and day, they sing the True Word of His Bani. The Naam is the wealth of the poor. ||12||

ਜਿਨ ਆਪੇ ਮੇਲਿ ਵਿਛੋੜਹਿ ਨਾਹੀ ॥

Jin aapé mél vichʱoṛėh naahee.

Those whom You unite, Lord, are never separated again.

ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਦਾ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ॥

Gur kæ sabaḋ saḋaa saalaahee.

Through the Word of the Guru’s Shabad, they praise You forever.

ਸਭਨਾ ਸਿਰਿ ਤੂ ਏਕੋ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਸਬਦੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਲਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੩॥

Sabʱnaa sir ṫoo éko saahib sabḋé naam salaahaa hé. ||13||

You are the One Lord and Master over all. Through the Shabad, the Naam is praised. ||13||

ਬਿਨੁ ਸਬਦੈ ਤੁਧੁਨੋ ਕੋਈ ਨ ਜਾਣੀ ॥

Bin sabḋæ ṫuḋʱuno ko▫ee na jaaṇee.

Without the Shabad, no one knows You.

ਤੁਧੁ ਆਪੇ ਕਥੀ ਅਕਥ ਕਹਾਣੀ ॥

Ŧuḋʱ aapé kaṫʱee akaṫʱ kahaaṇee.

You Yourself speak the Unspoken Speech.

ਆਪੇ ਸਬਦੁ ਸਦਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਿ ਸੰਬਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੪॥

Āpé sabaḋ saḋaa gur ḋaaṫaa har naam jap sambaahaa hé. ||14||

You Yourself are the Shabad forever, the Guru, the Great Giver; chanting the Lord’s Name, You bestow Your treasure. ||14||

ਤੂ ਆਪੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰਾ ॥

Ŧoo aapé karṫaa sirjaṇhaaraa.

You Yourself are the Creator of the Universe.

ਤੇਰਾ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਮੇਟਣਹਾਰਾ ॥

Ŧéraa likʱi▫aa ko▫é na métaṇhaaraa.

No one can erase what You have written.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੇਵਹਿ ਤੂ ਆਪੇ ਸਹਸਾ ਗਣਤ ਨ ਤਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੫॥

Gurmukʱ naam ḋévėh ṫoo aapé sahsaa gaṇaṫ na ṫaahaa hé. ||15||

You Yourself bless the Gurmukh with the Naam, who is no longer skeptical, and is not held to account. ||15||

ਭਗਤ ਸਚੇ ਤੇਰੈ ਦਰਵਾਰੇ ॥

Bʱagaṫ saché ṫéræ ḋarvaaré.

Your true devotees stand at the Door of Your Court.

ਸਬਦੇ ਸੇਵਨਿ ਭਾਇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥

Sabḋé sévan bʱaa▫é pi▫aaré.

They serve the Shabad with love and affection.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਬੈਰਾਗੀ ਨਾਮੇ ਕਾਰਜੁ ਸੋਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੬॥੩॥੧੨॥

Naanak naam raṫé bæraagee naamé kaaraj sohaa hé. ||16||3||12||

O Nanak! Those who are attuned to the Naam remain detached; through the Naam, their affairs are resolved. ||16||3||12||

ਮਾਰੂ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥

Maaroo mėhlaa 3.

Maaroo, Third Mehl:

ਮੇਰੈ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਸਾਚੈ ਇਕੁ ਖੇਲੁ ਰਚਾਇਆ ॥

Méræ parabʱ saachæ ik kʱél rachaa▫i▫aa.

My True Lord God has staged a play.

ਕੋਇ ਨ ਕਿਸ ਹੀ ਜੇਹਾ ਉਪਾਇਆ ॥

Ko▫é na kis hee jéhaa upaa▫i▫aa.

He has created no one like anyone else.

ਆਪੇ ਫਰਕੁ ਕਰੇ ਵੇਖਿ ਵਿਗਸੈ ਸਭਿ ਰਸ ਦੇਹੀ ਮਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੧॥

Āpé farak karé vékʱ vigsæ sabʱ ras ḋéhee maahaa hé. ||1||

He made everyone different, and he gazes upon them with pleasure; he placed all the flavors in the body. ||1||

ਵਾਜੈ ਪਉਣੁ ਤੈ ਆਪਿ ਵਜਾਏ ॥

vaajæ pa▫uṇ ṫæ aap vajaa▫é.

You Yourself vibrate the beat of the breath.

ਸਿਵ ਸਕਤੀ ਦੇਹੀ ਮਹਿ ਪਾਏ ॥

Siv sakṫee ḋéhee mėh paa▫é.

Shiva and Shakti, energy and matter - You have placed them into the body.

ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਉਲਟੀ ਹੋਵੈ ਗਿਆਨ ਰਤਨੁ ਸਬਦੁ ਤਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੨॥

Gur parsaadee ultee hovæ gi▫aan raṫan sabaḋ ṫaahaa hé. ||2||

By Guru’s Grace, one turns away from the world, and attains the jewel of spiritual wisdom, and the Word of the Shabad. ||2||

ਅੰਧੇਰਾ ਚਾਨਣੁ ਆਪੇ ਕੀਆ ॥

Anḋʱéraa chaanaṇ aapé kee▫aa.

He Himself created darkness and light.

ਏਕੋ ਵਰਤੈ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਬੀਆ ॥

Ėko varṫæ avar na bee▫aa.

He alone is pervasive; there is no other at all.

ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਆਪੁ ਪਛਾਣੈ ਕਮਲੁ ਬਿਗਸੈ ਬੁਧਿ ਤਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੩॥

Gur parsaadee aap pachʱaaṇæ kamal bigsæ buḋʱ ṫaahaa hé. ||3||

One who realizes his own self - by Guru’s Grace, the lotus of his mind blossoms forth. ||3||

ਅਪਣੀ ਗਹਣ ਗਤਿ ਆਪੇ ਜਾਣੈ ॥

Apṇee gahaṇ gaṫ aapé jaaṇæ.

Only He Himself knows His depth and extent.

ਹੋਰੁ ਲੋਕੁ ਸੁਣਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਆਖਿ ਵਖਾਣੈ ॥

Hor lok suṇ suṇ aakʱ vakʱaaṇæ.

Other people can only listen and hear what is spoken and said.

ਗਿਆਨੀ ਹੋਵੈ ਸੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬੂਝੈ ਸਾਚੀ ਸਿਫਤਿ ਸਲਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੪॥

Gi▫aanee hovæ so gurmukʱ boojʱæ saachee sifaṫ salaahaa hé. ||4||

One who is spiritually wise, understands himself as Gurmukh; he praises the True Lord. ||4||

ਦੇਹੀ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਵਸਤੁ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥

Ḏéhee anḋar vasaṫ apaaraa.

Deep within the body is the priceless object.

ਆਪੇ ਕਪਟ ਖੁਲਾਵਣਹਾਰਾ ॥

Āpé kapat kʱulaavaṇhaaraa.

He Himself opens the doors.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਹਜੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪੀਵੈ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਅਗਨਿ ਬੁਝਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੫॥

Gurmukʱ sėhjé amriṫ peevæ ṫarisnaa agan bujʱaahaa hé. ||5||

The Gurmukh intuitively drinks in the Ambrosial Nectar, and the fire of desire is quenched. ||5||

ਸਭਿ ਰਸ ਦੇਹੀ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਪਾਏ ॥

Sabʱ ras ḋéhee anḋar paa▫é.

He placed all the flavors within the body.

ਵਿਰਲੇ ਕਉ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਬਦੁ ਬੁਝਾਏ ॥

virlé ka▫o gur sabaḋ bujʱaa▫é.

How rare are those who understand, through the Word of the Guru’s Shabad.

ਅੰਦਰੁ ਖੋਜੇ ਸਬਦੁ ਸਾਲਾਹੇ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਕਾਹੇ ਜਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੬॥

Anḋar kʱojé sabaḋ saalaahé baahar kaahé jaahaa hé. ||6||

So, search within yourself, and praise the Shabad. Why run around outside your self? ||6||

ਵਿਣੁ ਚਾਖੇ ਸਾਦੁ ਕਿਸੈ ਨ ਆਇਆ ॥

viṇ chaakʱé saaḋ kisæ na aa▫i▫aa.

Without tasting, no one enjoys the flavor.

ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪੀਆਇਆ ॥

Gur kæ sabaḋ amriṫ pee▫aa▫i▫aa.

Through the Word of the Guru’s Shabad, one drinks in the Ambrosial Nectar.

ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪੀ ਅਮਰਾ ਪਦੁ ਹੋਏ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਰਸੁ ਤਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੭॥

Amriṫ pee amraa paḋ ho▫é gur kæ sabaḋ ras ṫaahaa hé. ||7||

The Ambrosial Nectar is drunk, and the immoral status is obtained, when one obtains the sublime essence of the Guru’s Shabad. ||7||

ਆਪੁ ਪਛਾਣੈ ਸੋ ਸਭਿ ਗੁਣ ਜਾਣੈ ॥

Āp pachʱaaṇæ so sabʱ guṇ jaaṇæ.

One who realizes himself, knows all virtues.

ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਖਾਣੈ ॥

Gur kæ sabaḋ har naam vakʱaaṇæ.

Through the Word of the Guru’s Shabad, he chants the Name of the Lord.
